"For over a thousand years, Tibetan and Chinese peoples have coexisted in harmony neighborhood friendly, mutually enriching themselves in the social and economic religious and cultural. episodically, there was moments during which we fought. However, most of the time, relations between Tibetans and Chinese were peaceful. As Buddhism developed in China before spreading to Tibet, Tibetan Buddhists give the Chinese Buddhists respect and deference due to brothers etsoeurs spiritual elders.
"I have two requests make our Chinese brothers and sisters participating in this conference. First, I seek your advice and your sincere advice on how to proceed in the future to resolve the Tibetan issue. Then, I count on you to convince the Chinese people that we do not hate our brothers and sisters and we Chinese, Tibetans are neither anti-Chinese nor against China. I appeal to you to help me and to cooperate to prevent the Tibet issue became a problem of racial prejudice and antagonism between Tibetans and Chinese.
